Municipal Service Commission (MNC) is going to conduct a Competitive Examination  for recruitment of 8 Nos. Males/ Females for the post of “Deputy Manager” in Kolkata Municipal Corporation. Appointment will be in two panels—one Main panel against clear vacancies and one Supplementary panel against subsequent vacancies. MUNICIPAL SERVICE COMMISSION — COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION FOR THE POST OF DEPUTY MANAGER IN KOLKATA MUNICIPAL CORPORATION.

1. Deputy Manager: 8 Nos. Panel wise vacancies—
Main Panel: 4 Nos. (Gen—1; SC—2; ST—1)
Supplementary Panel: 4 Nos. (Gen—02; SC—1; ST—1)

Qualification Required: Degree in any discipline from recognised university or its equivalent with 50% marks
OR
An Honours degree from a recognised university or its equivalent.
Desirable: Computer Application course (‘O’ level) from institute approved by AICTE is desirable.

Age limit: between 18yrs to 37yrs as on 01/01/2012. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST is 5 years.

Pay Scale: Rs.9000—Rs.40500 and Grade pay of Rs.5400 per month.

Candidates’ Selection: Selection will be held in three stages—(i) Preliminary Examination (Multiple choice, Objective Type), (ii) Main Examination (Written) & (iii) Personality Test

Preliminary Examination will be on following topics — General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Science and Mathematics (Madhyamik level) with total marks of 100 comprising 100 questions (Multiple Choice-Objective Type Questions). There will be negative marking of 0.5 marks for each wrong answer.

Qualified candidates will be called for Main Examination which will be of two paper, viz, Paper—I and Paper—II. Paper—I will consist of – (i) Mathematics (50 marks) and (ii) Language (Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali—50 marks)
Paper—II will consist—(i) English (100 marks).

Selected candidates will be finally called for Personality Test of 20 marks.

Application fee: Candidates willing to apply should prepare a Bank Draft of Rs.220/- in favour of “Secretary, Municipal Service Commission” payable at Kolkata. Candidates should write their name on the reverse of the draft.
No application fee is to be paid by the candidates of SC/ST category.
