Public Service Commission, West Bengal is recruiting 39 Nos. Inspector of Legal Metrology, under Consumer Affairs Department in the West Bengal Service. The engagement in the post is on temporary basis but likely to be permanent. Eligible and interested candidates may apply on prescribed Application Form on or before 18-12-2012. 1. Inspector of Legal Metrology: 39 Nos. [Gen—21; SC—8; ST—4; OBC-A—2; OBC-B & PH (Hearing Impairment)—1]

Qualification: Graduate in Science (with Physics as one the subjects), Technology or Engineering OR diploma in Engineering with 3yrs experience in that particular field or in the field of Legal Metrology.
Candidates must be able to speak, read and write Bengali (Nepali for candidates from the hill area of Darjeeling district)

Candidates appointed for the post will later have to complete the Basic Training Course at the Indian Institute of Legal Metrology before he is being considered for confirmation to the post.

Pay scale: Rs.9000—40500 and Grade pay: Rs.4400/-

Age Limits: within 32yrs as on 01-01-2012. Upper age relaxation for OBC—3yrs; SC/ST—5yrs and PH—10yrs. Others—as per Govt. norms.

Application fee: Rs.160 in form of Crossed Indian Postal Order endorsed to the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal and payable at G.P.O., Kolkata.
SC/ST/PH candidates of West Bengal are not required to pay any fee.

Selection of the candidates will be through Preliminary Examination/ Screening Test.

The Application Form should be enclosed with Self-Certified or Attested copies of testimonials such as —Madhyamik pass or equivalent certificate, Marksheet and Certificate for each examination passed, Caste Certificate, PH certificate (For PH candidates), Indian Postal Order (IPO) / Challan, Experience certificate, if any, and any other relevant documents. Enclose 2 Nos. self-addressed envelopes (without postal stamp) with the application.
