South Eastern Railway, Railway Recruitment Cell - Kolkata-43, requires 2461 Group – D posts – Trackman, Pointsman-B, Helper and Station Peon. Class 10 or ITI or equivalent candidates may apply on the prescribed application format. Employment Notice No-SER/RRC/02/2012. Eligibility norms and Qualification requirement in brief is given below—

SOUTH EASTERN RAILWAY, RAILWAY RECRUITMENT CELL - KOLKATA-43, REQUIRES 2461 GROUP – D POSTS – TRACKMAN, POINTSMAN-B, HELPER AND STATION PEON. EMPLOYMENT NOTICE NO-SER/RRC/02/2012. LAST DATE EXTENDED TO - 21/01/2013

1. Trackman: 313 Nos. (Gen—156; SC—47; ST—23; OBC—87)
2. Pointsman-B: 661 Nos. (Gen—331; SC—100; ST—49; OBC—181)
3. Helper-II (In dept. of Mech/ Engg/ Elect): 815 Nos. (Gen—408; SC—122; ST—61; OBC—224). Out of them 37nos. PWD candidates.
4. Helper-II (In Department of Workshops & Stores): 666 Nos. (Gen—336; SC—100; ST—50; OBC—180). Out of them 31nos. PWD candidates.
5. Station Peon/ Peon: 6 Nos. (Gen—3; SC—1; ST—1; OBC—1). Out of them 6nos. PWD.

N.B: Ex-Servicemen were not eligible for any one of the above mentioned vacancies. New Advertisement/ Notification will be released for Ex-Serviceman in due course.

Qualification Required: Class 10 pass or ITI or equivalent qualification. Candidates having higher qualification may also apply. Candidates waiting for declaration of result may not apply.

Age Limits: between 18yrs to 33yrs as on 01/01/2013. Upper age relaxation for OBC—3yrs; SC/ST—5yrs; PH—10yrs, Widow/ legally divorced women—2yrs (General). Others—as per norms. Refer the Advt. for details.


Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). Details given in below mentioned link.


Physical Efficiency Test (P.E.T.): The qualifying standard of PET will be as follows:-
For Male Candidates: Should be able to run for a distance of 1500 metres in 6 minutes in one chance.
For Female Candidates: Should be able to run for a distance of 400 metres in 3 minutes in one chance.


Examination Fee: Rs.40/- is to be paid through Indian Postal Order (IPO) or Demand Draft drawn in favour of“FA&CAO, South Eastern Railway, 11 Garden Reach Road , Kolkata-700043 payable at “KOLKATA”. 
Candidates must write their name and address on the back side of the Bank Draft/IPO and enclose it with theapplication form in original.
SC/ST/PH/Women/ Minorities and Economically backward candidates do not need to pay Examination fee. Such candidates should enclose Caste/ Income certificate in support along with application form.

How to Apply: Apply on prescribed application format which can be downloaded from the official website South Eastern Railway or can be prepared as per format on plain paper using one side of paper.
Enclosed the application form with testimonials in Self-Attested copies in support of Qualification/ technical course, if any, Age proof, Caste, PH certificate, in case of PH category and any other such relevant documents, One additional passport size photograph mentioning Name and Father/Husband’s name on the reverse.
Superscribe the application form containing envelope with — “Recruitment in Pay Band-I Rs.5200-20200/- with GP Rs.1800/- South Eastern Railway. Community ______”
