WB Police Recruitment 2013: 400 Sub-Inspector SI Vacancies

West Bengal Police Recruitment Board is inviting application form for recruitment in the posts of – “Sub-Inspector (Unarmed) / Lady Sub-Inspector (Unarmed)” in West Bengal Police — 2013. Degree holder boys and girls may apply for the posts on prescribed application format. Qualification norms and eligibility criteria is given below —

400 SUB-INSPECTOR/ LADY SUB-INSPECTOR (UNARMED) IN WEST BENGAL POLICE —2013 THROUGH WEST BENGAL POLICE RECRUITMENT BOARD. LAST DATE: 17/04/2013.

1. Sub-Inspector of Police (Unarmed): 282 Nos.
2. Lady Sub-Inspector of Police (Unarmed): 118 Nos.
N.B: Reservation of the posts for SC/ST and OBC Candidates of West Bengal is as per Govt. norms.

Educational qualification: A degree of a recognized university or its equivalent.

Age Limits: The candidates must not be less than 20 years and not more than 27 years as on 01.01.2013. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC and ST and by 3 years for OBC candidates of West Bengal only.

Pay Scale: Rs.7100—37600

Physical Standards of the Candidates
For Male Candidates: Height-1.67 mtrs; Weight- 51.5 Kgs; Chest- 79 cms with a minimum expansion of 5 cms.
For Hill men of Darjeeling District: Height-1.60 mtrs; Weight- 50 Kgs; Chest- 76.20 cms with a minimum expansion of 5 cms.
For Female Candidates: Height-1.60 mtrs; Weight- 45 Kgs.
For Hill women of Darjeeling District: Height-1.55 mtrs; Weight- 45 Kgs

Candidates’ Selection process—
Eligible candidates will be called for a Preliminary Examination to be held on General Studies and Arithmetic (Multiple choice objective type questions) with full marks of 200 (150 marks in General Studies having 75 questions & 50 marks in Arithmetic having 25 questions. Duration of Written Examination will be 90 minutes.
Candidates who qualify the preliminary examination will be called for Final Examination.

The Final Examination will consist of three papers of conventional type questions on – Paper-I: General Studies and Arithmetic (2hrs duration),  Paper-II : English (1hr duration) and Paper-III: Bengali/Hindi/ Urdu/ Nepali (1hr duration)
The examination for all the above three papers will be held on the same day.

Qualified candidates from main Written Examination will be called for Personality Test of 30 marks. Finally there will be Medical Test.

How to Apply: Apply on prescribed application format. Application form and detailed Information Brochure will be available from the office of the Superintendent of Police of all districts and the office of the Commissioner of Police of all Police Commissionerates (except Kolkata) from 20/03/2013 to 16/04/2013.

Application form will be also issued to the candidates on production of Bank Draft / Postal Order of Rs. 150/- (One hundred fifty only) or Caste Certificate (for the candidates from Schedule Tribe / Scheduled Caste Community of West Bengal only)

The Application form must be enclosed with the following attested copies of documents and testimonials —

1. Demand Draft or IPO (of Rs. 150/-), for candidates other than SC/ST of West Bengal, 
2. One copy of recent Passport size photograph (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm) signed by the candidate and pasted on theapplication form and two more identical extra copies of signed photographs (Sl. No. of the Application Formmust be written on the back side of the photograph), 
3. Attested photocopies of admit card/certificate of Madhyamik or equivalent examination as proof of age, 
4.  Attested photocopies of certificate / marksheet of Degree (Graduation) examination, 
5. Documents in support of claim for SC/ST/OBC from competent authority, if applicable 
6. Documents in support of proof of departmental candidate with NOC.

Application Fee: Rs.150 is to be paid in form of A/C payee Demand Draft (payable at Kolkata) or IPO (payable at GPO Kolkata) in favour of 'West Bengal Police Recruitment Board’ (WBPRB).
SC/ST candidates of West Bengal are not require to pay any Application Fee.
Reserved categories of other State may apply as General candidates only and Application fee is applicable for them.

The application form along with enclosures is to be place in an envelope of size 34 cm X 26 cm. Do not fold theapplication form.
