Sikkim Police is inviting application for 223 posts of “Constable” and 60 posts of“Followers”. Eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application format within scheduled date. Name of the Post: CONSTABLE

Number of vacancies distributed according to 2nd India Reserve Battalion and 3rd India Reserve Battalion are as follows —
2nd India Reserve Battalion: 112 Nos.
3rd India Reserve Battalion: 111 Nos.
Reservation: Gen—33; BL—49; MBC—47; OBC—47; ST—31; ST—16

Educational Qualification: Class X pass for all open and reserved candidates and Class VIII pass for Candidates who have served as Home Guard for minimum 3yrs as on 1-7-2013


Name of the Post: FOLLOWERS
Number of vacancies as per trade/ category wise are as follows —
1. Cook: 20 Nos.
2. Dhobi: 7 Nos.
3. Water Carrier: 12 Nos.
4. Barber: 6 Nos.
5. Safai Karmachari: 15 Nos.
Reservation: Gen—27; BL—09; MBC—08; OBC—08; ST—06; SC—02

Educational Qualification: Minimum Class VIII pass.

N.B: The vacancies are also reserved for Home Guard candidates (in the post of Constable only), i.e. candidates who have served as Home Guards for a minimum period of 3yrs as on 1-7-2013. For details, refer the Advt. (link given below).

Those candidates who have appeared in class-X examination and class-VIII examination in the current session i.e March/April 2013 will have to produce their original pass certificate during scrutiny of documents.

Age Limits (For all posts): between 18yrs to 22yrs as on 1-5-2013. Upper age relaxation is as per norms.

Physical requirements for Constables and Followers-
a). Height - 5’3”
b). Chest - 32” min. with minimum expansion of 2”.
c). Weight - 50 Kgs. min.

Requirements: Candidates must have valid local employment card.

Selection of the candidates for the post of Constable and Followers will be through— Physical Measurement, Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Written Test. Skill Test will be there for the post of Followers, the respective trade.

Application fee: Candidates must submit Bank Receipt of Rs.50/- under Revenue Head-0055-Police-800 other receipts.

Application form must reach the following address — The Office of CO, 3rd IRBn, Police Headquarters, Gangtok or the office of District SSP (East, South, West & North)

There is no need to send any documents along with the Application form. Only candidates working as a Government servant must enclose NOC from Head of Department. 

Last Date of Application: The application form must reach on or before 2nd May 2013.
