1. Assistant Engineer (Electrical): 167 Nos. (Gen—48; SC—37; ST—14; OBC-A—44; OBC- B—12)
Qualification: B.E/ B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engineering) Degree in Electrical Engg./ Electrical & Electronics (Combined) (full time 4yrs duration course)
OR 
B.Sc (H) in Physics with 3yrs B.Tech in Electrical Engineering/ Power Engineering.

2. Assistant Engineer  (Civil): 25 Nos. (Gen—11; SC—6; ST—2; OBC-A –3; OBC-B –2; PH—1)
Qualification: B.E/ B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engineering) Degree in Civil Engineering (full time 4yrs duration course)

3. Assistant Engineer (IT & C): 40 Nos. (Gen—21; SC—9; ST—3; OBC-A – 4; OBC-B –2; PH – 1)
Qualification: B.E/ B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engineering) Degree in Information Technology/ Computer Science (full time 4yrs duration course)
OR
MCA (full time)/ B.Sc (H) with 3yrs fulltime B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering/ B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering/ Degree in Electronics
OR
Degree in Electronics and Telecommunication (full time 4yrs duration course)

4. Assistant Manager (HR&A): 20 Nos. (Gen—4; SC—7; ST—1; OBC-A – 5; OBC-B –2; PH—1)
Qualification: Graduate in any discipline and MBA (2yrs full time course)/ MPM (2yrs full time course)/ MHRM (2yrs full time course) with major specialization in Personnel Management / HR or Post Graduate full time Degree/ Diploma (2yrs course) with specialization in Personnel Management / H.R.

5. Assistant Manager (F&A): 18 Nos. (Gen—00; SC—7; ST—5; OBC-A –3; OBC-B –2; PH—1)
Qualification: Graduate in any discipline and completed C.A. course OR MBA (full time 2yrs course) with specialization in Finance.

6. Sub Assistant Engineer (Electrical): 125 Nos. (Gen—58; SC—25; ST—11; OBC-A –12; OBC-B –8; PH –4; Ex-serviceman— 7)
Qualification: Diploma in Electrical Engineering (3yrs full time course)

7. Sub Assistant Engineer (Civil): 9 Nos. (Gen—4; SC—1; ST—00; OBC-A –1; OBC-B –1; PH—1; Ex-serviceman— 1)
Qualification: Diploma in Civil Engineering (full time 3yrs duration course)

N.B: Preference will be given to the candidates who have adequate knowledge in Bengali or Nepali language.


Pay Scales: —
For Sub Assistant Engineer (Electrical/ Civil): Rs.6300—20200 and Grade pay: Rs.4400/ - AND for rest of posts – Rs.15600 –Rs.39100 and Grade pay: Rs.5400/- per month.
Beside Basic Pay and Grade pay there are other allowances as per rules of the company.

Age Limits: Minimum 18yrs and maximum 27yrs as on 01-01-2013. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST- 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman & any other Categories - As per Govt. norms.
N.B: Only candidates of West Bengal are eligible for age relaxation. Candidates of other States will be treated as General candidates.

Selection of the candidates will be through Written Test and Interview. The Written Test and Interview will be held in Kolkata only.
Written Test will be of – General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Reasoning, General English and Arithmetic, apart from the test of knowledge in the respective discipline.
Date and time of Written Test will be intimated in due course.

Processing & Examination Fees: Rs.400/- for posts in Sl.No. 01 to 05 (i.e. for the posts with Grade pay of Rs.5400/-) and Rs.300/- for Posts in Sl.No.6 & 7 (i.e. for the posts with Grade pay of Rs.4400/-)
Examination Fee can be deposited in any branch of United Bank of India by means of Fee Payment Challan. Candidates may download the Fee Payment Challan from the website of WBSEDCL.
SC/ST candidates are exempted from fee payment. PH candidates applying for the posts under Sl.No.6 & 7 shall pay Rs.180/- only. For details, refer the below given link.
